About Brave Parenting Journey

From Overwhelmed to Empowered

When my son was first diagnosed with Autism, it was followed by PANDAS/PANS as an additional diagnosis. As his parent, I felt overwhelmed and like I was grasping in the dark. I read everything I could get my hands on, searching for answers, but nothing seemed to bring real change. The chaos continued, and I felt like I was failing him—and our family. Doctors, school staff, fellow school parents, and the right therapies were ultimately supportive and helpful in our journey.

Finding the right therapist/ parent coach for myself was also a significant move as we, as parents parenting our neurodivergent kids need support, too! Remember the saying, "You can't pour from an empty cup"? Working with a parent coach is a great help in filling your cup! Parent coaching made all the difference in my stress levels.

Years later, the breakthrough came: I needed to stop trying to "fix" him and start understanding his world. By shifting my parenting approach and embracing his diagnosis, I was able to create strategies that truly supported him and started taking care of myself as his parent.

That shift changed everything. Today, we have more peace, stronger connections, and a family dynamic that works. Now, I also help other parents find their path forward.

Why This Matters

Neurodivergent Kids and Special Needs Parenting Is Different—And That’s Okay

Parenting is already intense. But when your child is neurodivergent—living with ADHD, autism, anxiety, or other challenges—it can feel like you’re carrying the world alone. The emotional weight is real. The constant worry, the meltdowns, the judgment from others, and the absolute lack of time to care for you… it’s exhausting.

What makes it more complicated? Traditional parenting strategies often don’t work. Our kids need more than structure and discipline—they need understanding, connection, and tools designed for them.

'Also adding more to our stress load as parents.

There is a better way. While you have all the supportive therapies, doctors, and teams for your children, Moms and Dads need to be supported personally, too! This is where my services help! Consider working together with a parent coach, consider it caretaker self-care.

What I Offer (Parent Care Edition)

Brave Parent Support Coaching

Parenting a neurodivergent or social needs child comes with a unique mix of beauty, intensity, and emotional overwhelm — and too often, you're left managing it all alone. Left with minimal time for your needs.

This coaching space is designed just for you — the parent. Not to fix parenting your child but to support your heart, your needs, and your capacity to keep showing up. Through 1:1 sessions, we'll talk about the real stuff:

  1. 🧠 Mindset Coaching for Burned-Out Parents

  2. 💛 Tools for Emotional Regulation and Boundaries

  3. 🧘‍♀️ Micro Self-Care That Actually Fits Your Life
Finding micro-moments of rest and reclaiming your identity.
  4. Coaching designed for parents of neurodivergent kids (ADHD, autism, anxiety & more).

You don't need another therapy recommendation. You need a space where you can exhale, be heard, and feel less alone. Coaching offers that — without judgment or pressure to "do more." You're already doing more than enough.

Please note: I will activate the booking section on the website as space becomes available.

Why it Works. This Isn’t About Doing More. It’s About Feeling Better.

Support You Can Finally Breathe Into

Most parents don’t need another checklist—they need space to breathe, vent, reset, and be seen. My coaching blends neuroscience-informed insights, trauma-aware practices, and lived experience as a special needs parent.

You’ll leave our sessions with more clarity, more calm, and a few fewer things weighing on your heart.

Parent coaching isn’t about telling you what you’re doing wrong. It’s about walking beside you, helping you navigate the tough days, and providing you with the tools to build a more peaceful home—step by step.

This is the steady, judgment-free support you’ve been longing for.
A place to exhale, regroup, and start fresh with strategies that fit your unique child and your real life.

You don’t have to figure it all out alone anymore.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at melissa@braveparentingjourney.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

If you’re always at the bottom of the list...
If you’re trying to hold it together for everyone else…
If you’re exhausted, irritable, and wondering where you went in all of this…
Then yes, this is for you.

I am a certified coach with several certificates in coaching parents with neurodiverse children and clients with ADD/ADHD. I am also a former children's social worker with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), and that's intentional.

I come to this work as a parent who's walked the path myself. I've lived the daily challenges of raising a child with PANDAS/PAN and autism. I also come to you as a parent diagnosed with ADD. I've done the research, made the mistakes, and learned through real-life trial and error what works in addition to my education.

My coaching is grounded in both neuroscience and lived experience. What I offer are proven, practical strategies—along with deep empathy, zero judgment, and a genuine desire to help you move forward with more clarity and confidence.

I've been where you are. I made it through. And I want to help you get there, too—without taking the long, lonely road I had to walk.

Each session is 50 minutes or 80 minutes unless stated otherwise.

Imagine a space where you don’t have to perform, fix, or hold it all together—where you can show up exactly as you are.

That’s the kind of relationship we’ll build together. In our sessions, we’ll have honest and thoughtful conversations that gently uncover the beliefs, patterns, and emotions that may be holding you back. As we explore what’s driving your reactions and choices, you’ll begin to reconnect with the version of yourself you’ve been missing—the one that feels grounded, clear, and true, no matter what life throws your way.

Honestly, most of us already know what we “should” be doing—we’re just not doing it (am I right?). That’s why coaching isn’t about giving advice or handing out more information—you could get that from another book.

Instead, coaching is about helping you access the insight and wisdom you already have. Think of it less like a guidebook and more like a mirror—I reflect on what’s getting in your way and help you see new possibilities. You don’t need fixing. You need clarity, support, and space to grow into the parent you already know you can be.

Because what we wear matters.

Not for looks, but for what it tells us about ourselves.
I wanted to create clothes and accessories that parents could wear on the hardest days—and feel seen, validated, and understood.

Shirts that say, “Meltdown Manager. Hope Holder. Snack Dealer.”
Mugs that whisper, “I’m brave enough for today.”
Totes and journals that carry the unspoken: You’re tired. You’re brave. And you’re still showing up.
